I can’t think of another musical instrument like the guitar, that seems to get better with age. Except, maybe the violin. But guitars are a little bit funny that way. I know I played the drums for years. From the time I was about 10 till I was about 21 I played in competitive drum corp competitions. None of those drums seemed to get better with age. And certainly none of the drums from the occasional rock band that I played in were all that valuable. But guitars, especially older vintage Gibson guitars seem to get more expensive over time. Especially if they were owned by a previously famous or extraordinarily gifted guitarist. It’s almost as if the ghost of the former owners rubbed off some of their talent on the guitars. Whatever, I suppose it matters to some folks. There may be some truth, to the fact that certain woods change the sound of the guitar as they get older.
