Tips on How To Whiten Your Teeth

If you want to know how to whiten your teeth, you are not alone. This is one of the biggest problems people face with their oral hygiene. You may go to your dentist twice a year, brush your teeth twice a day and rinse with an antiseptic mouthwash and still find your teeth are not as white as they could be.

You can have whiter teeth by doing a few different things.

Step 1: The first step to having whiter teeth is to figure out what the problem is that is causing them to not be white. Do you have stains on your teeth? Why type of stain is it? Are your teeth just dingy? Answering these questions is the first step to whiter teeth.

Step 2: Once you know why you have dark teeth, you can find products to help you change that. If your teeth are just dingy, you can try using a toothpaste with a built in whitener. If you have stains, you will need to look at different toothpaste brands to find one that removes the type of stain you have. This could be coffee stains, tea stains, smoking stains, etc.

Step 3: For extra help, you can use a tooth-whitening strip. These are fairly inexpensive and can help whiten teeth quickly. This works well for an upcoming event.

Step 4: If you have tried many brands of whitening toothpaste and strips and still have dingy teeth, you can try using a mixture of baking soda and water. Mix both together to form a thick paste and use like a toothpaste. This tastes bad and is very gritty, but it works for most stains.

If none of the above tips help you, you should consider going to your dentist and explain the situation. Tell him or her what you have used. He or she may be able to give you a prescription-strength whitening toothpaste to whiten your teeth.
