Yes, Magic Jack can be used to call 911, but it isn’t recommended that is it your only phone for calling 911.  You need to keep your address where you are at up-to-date at all times if you’re depending on this service for calling 911.  This can be a problem if you are traveling with it and are in a new location often.  If you have an emergency while your power is out you will not be able to call 911 with Magic Jack.    Also if your internet service happens to be out when you need to call, that can create a dangerous situation.  If you are using this voip service make sure you also have a dependable alternative for calling when you might have an emergency.  Everyone should always have an extra phone on hand  to use when the power goes out.
