Considered a designer dog, the Aussiedoodle is a combination between a Poodle and an Australian Shepherd. These dogs have a rectangular build and are muscular and agile. They are becoming a popular breed as companions and some are also being taught to be herders. These dogs are very athletic and require a high level of physical and mental activity but can survive in apartment living if their basic needs are met like frequent walks and plenty of toys and loving.
The Aussiedoodle are easily trained and respond well to positive training methods. These dogs are very sociable, love children, and get along well with other dogs and household pets. Because they are very friendly and loving, they are not the best suggestion of a dog to be used as a watch dog or guard dog.
