The Caucasian Ovtcharka or Caucasian Mountain Dog is a Molosser breed of Bull Mastiff that originated in the Baltic regions of Europe. This particular breed was originally used to protect livestock or guard property, but recently has been showing up as a fighting breed of dog in Russia where there are no rules to protect dogs from participating in dog fights.
The Caucasian Ovcharka is usually described as very assertive large breed of dog with a very strong will and if not properly trained and socialized, this strong and hardy dog may quickly become ferocious and unmanageable as animal to keep around family or other pets. But if trained and raised properly, there is not a better dog to guard over your family as it considers everyone around them, including other animals as part of its pack and it will defend them with its life.
