I have seen the collectors own some of the most classy pocket watch holders I could imagine. I think that some of the cases might have been coming from top fashion designers like Gucci, because they were modern and fashionable. Not the traditional leather case which has a window on the top. These types of traditional cases can cost up to five hundred dollars and hold six to eight pocket watches. The models that I saw had only two fob watches in them and did not have a window on the top. The materials were not the traditional brown or black leather but alligator or even kenguru. Is it really necessary to use the skin of an endangered animal to make something that you hold a watch in? Not if you ask me.
