Medical Billing and Coding Certification Guide
July 22nd, 2009 by whaleadmin

Medical billing and coding certification will earn you the designation as a Certified Professional Coder which is a great entry point into the medical billing career.  Unfortunately not many individuals choose to start because the time frame for training seems to be too long (15-24 months).

As a CPC you will be well versed in ICD-9-CM diagnosis codes, HCPCS dealings and have a full understanding of what it takes to be a medical billing coder.  As it is with many careers you will have to maintain continued education credits which takes place yearly.

Certified Professional Coder is a great way to change into a new field, a nice starting job from high school or if life has changed for you and you are in need of a new job.
