If you’re thinking about taking your much anticipated honeymoon in the Caribbean, make sure you check the dates first.

The islands in the Caribbean have a nice hot sunny season during the Northern hemisphere Spring time (March – May), but from around August through to November (with September being the worst) it is hurricane season.

I don’t think I could imagine anything worse for your honeymoon than being trapped in your room while a hurricane rages outside, or even worse having to be evacuated and spending your time in a shelter with hundreds of other misguided holiday makers.

A good time to go might be during the shoulder season (December – February and June – July). Not will the weather be fairly mild, but you can usually pick up some great specials.
