Do Liposculpture Incisions Leave Scars

In order for a plastic surgeon to get inside a patients body and remove fat, he or she must create an entry way into the body. This is accomplished through the strategic placement of tiny little cuts, also called incisions, into which the fat sucking tool, called the cannula, is then inserted.

But what about scars from these incisions? Are they going to leave a permanent mark on the body of the patient? Is there such a thing as liposculpture incision scars?

The answer is not black and white. Most people do not have to deal with scars left from incisions either because the marks naturally faded away on their own, or because the doctors placed the incisions in such a way as they cannot easily be seen. This means making marks in the natural creases and skin folds already present in the skin, so as to hide them!

Incisions are usually not a concern. If you have worried about them, talk to your doctor and get their opinion on the matter as it relates to your skin specifically.
