Cystic Acne Treatment: What It Is

Cystic acne is a severe bacterial skin infection by definition, in layman’s terms it is a really bad case of acne. So bad in fact that it requires the attention of a dermatologist in order to be successfully treated. There are several types of cystic acne treatment available for this type of acne but the most common are oral and topical antibiotics followed by steroidal injections. Topically antibiotics are generally the first line of treatment because it is cheap and easy to apply. If this treatment fails then your doctor my put you on a course of broad-spectrum antibiotics, which you will generally have to take for ten to fourteen days.  Last, and least popular, are injections of steroids. I say least popular because this treatment involves injections into the face.
