Colloquial Times?

Some people will spend a lot of time trying to hand address their envelopes. You can even pay a company to use calligraphy on the envelopes. This will cost you hundreds of dollars. Some people insist on this though and if you really want to have a nice looking envelope you probably shouldn’t do them yourself unless you have a lot of experience with calligraphy. If you’ve spent a lot of money on the invitations you really don’t want messy handwriting on the envelopes. Your computer can do an amazing job addressing envelopes. I really don’t see how it can be a problem, especially if thought is put into the typefaces used. I think then a lot of the time the reason why people have a problem with invitation envelopes that are printed with the computer is that they feel thought was not put into it. If you use a script typeface for the name and a simpler typeface for the address this would be a good way to make them look good. Obviously whenever you look at these envelopes thought was put into the design. Why have them done by hand when they can match the invitation? In fact if you really feel that an envelope should be addressed by hand the why shouldn’t the invitations be written out by hand too? I really don’t think that people are considering that this is a different world today and that there are a lot of things that can be done to make things look good.
