Beer Labeling Laws

You’re making beer at home, your friends love it, you’ve streamlined the process, you’re looking at facilities to expand your production, and now it’s time to start designing labels.  Beer labels have lots of guidelines that you must follow in order for your beer to be distributed to retail stores, restaurants, and bars.  These laws vary from wine and malt liquor labeling, although they share many of the same requirements.  One advantage that beer has is that it does not have to have the alcohol content published on the label (unless, of course you want to show off!).  This will save you a little bit of money in testing.  You do have to have the surgeon general warning, the name and location of the brewery, and the type of beer that is inside the bottle among a few other things.
