Artificial Hair Implants Not Successful
August 19th, 2009 by Whale

In the never ending quest for baldness control all kinds of therapies and remedies have been used. In the 1950’s hair implants, also known as hair plugs, were developed to relieve the patient of the embarrassment of bald spots. At the time the results were not really all that great and in fact many people claimed the bald spot looked much better than the fake looking hair implants.

In order for this system to work it is important to have a donor area from which hair follicles can be removed and then transplanted into the bald spot. Artificial hair implants were tried to compensate when a person did not have a good area to get the hair from. These turned out to be less than spectacular. They really don’t look that great because they are made out of a man made material and they can not be styled very well.
