I’ve had Angular Cheilitis, Stomatitis, Chelitis, or what most of us simply call torn mouth corners off and on for several years. The repeated bouts of it seem to be lasting longer and longer with each new episode.
In case you aren’t aware of the symptoms of cracked mouth corners, it is a very unsightly affliction which appears at the angles of your mouth.
When the condition really gets bad, the split mouth corners go into a cycle of bleeding, crusting over, and then re-opening. It is not only embarrassing, but it also hurts like crazy.
This year for Halloween, three of my friends and I were going to dress up as the four Bengal tigers we’d seen at the fair this year. I was to be the almost totally white one.
I had to use white face cover, and with all the excitement, I opened my mouth too wide and caused my mouth corner splits to reopen and start bleeding. Well, as you can imagine, I looked more like a tiger from some horror show.
My costume was destroyed, and I felt like everyone was staring at me. I’ve got to find the Angular Cheilitis cure that will permanently stop these embarrassing situations from occurring.
